I think there are advantages and disadvantages of attending an English academy at a very early age. Some linguists have argued that it is better to learn a language at an early age. I agree with them in that some babies can learn a new language automatically, without conscious learning like adults. However, I am concerned that learning English before they acquire their mother tongue makes the children so confused that they can get into a trouble in speaking both languages.
Hello, Gi Yean!I completely agree with you! Learning at a young age gives us the advantage of taking in as much information as possible, and retention is best. However, it can really lead to confusion and a mix of languages if not managed properly.
