Actually, some parents whose children are planning to get married want their children to have nice and fancy wedding ceremony to save face. Even new couples want to have wedding ceremony in an extravagant hotel or fancy venues in Gangnam area. Those kinds of venues are three or ten times as expensive as other venues. I don't understand why people waste money to show off and save face. The important thing is that newlyweds are comfortable and happy without big burden of wedding expenses. And I think newlyweds should save money not face for their future.

I totally agree with you! We should not be saving face but instead use that money for the future. I always believe that we should spend on the marriage, not the wedding. It's better to focus on long-term goals rather than a one-day ceremony.
