I'm not very good at drawing or making things, and I didn't like art classes when I was in school, so it would be hard for me to describe someone's appearance. I chose a very famous person who is familiar to you, so you will understand what I am describing about him. He is Rodrigo Duterte, former President of the Philippines. I searched and found his pictures online and printed them out. And I'm describing him while looking at the pictures. His first impression is that he looks very strong like an athlete. But I know that, contrary to his impression, he majored in law and was a lawyer. His face looks confident. And he has brown skin and short black hair. And he doesn't seem to be very tall and handsome.

I don't think you need to be interested in art to be able to describe someone. 
It's just my thought though.
I wish you described someone I don't know though.
It would be better that way since I can check weather I can fully understand how you describe that person.
