During university, I had some chinese friends who were my friend's friends. We knew each others but, I was unfamiliar with them. Because they weren't fluent Korean. So we just said hello.

>> We knew each other, but I wasn’t very familiar with them because they weren’t fluent in Korean. 

So we just said hello.
>> So, we just exchanged greetings.
