I don't like to see a doctor when I am sick. So I usually go to a pharmacy to buy some medications based on my symptoms. But I am concerned about the side effects of the medications because a certain medication is so comprehensive. For example, any cold pills cover fever, cough, sore throat, and runny nose. Sometimes I have to the over round pills even though I have only fever and sore throat. That's why there are a few advantages of prescribed medicine.

I agree with you! Sometimes over-the-counter medicines may help, but the problem is that we can become immune to them when we take them every time we experience certain symptoms. Also, we don't know their contraindications or their effects when taken with other medications.
