When is it important and helpful to tell the truth?

When it comes to work, I think it should be said very clearly if they are doing right or not, based on the truth. Or, Someone is about to go wrong way, who I care about very much and the one also knows either, I would give advice or tell my frank opinion about their problem. I have no choice but to believe it will help them.
