I think so. Social media changes beauty standard easily and fast. The reason why it is possible is that it reduces barrier for conversations. Social media makes people interact more and lots of interact pushes people to have similar thought. So through social media, it is easier for social media users to have similar thought about beauty. And it's enough to form beauty standards because many people do social media. But even social media can't easily break the language barrier. And I think that's one of the big reasons why beauty standards are different by nations.
