Having pets requires some effort and time. And it costs. If the pets are sick and you have to take them to the veterinary clinic, you will pay so much because there is no government insurance for pets. Maybe some people don't have pets. Or those who live alone and work until late evening cannot keep any pets although they live pet animals. Some people don't have pets because of their allergies. And some can't live with pets because of lack of space.

Thank you for doing your homework! I totally agree with you; taking care of pets is like having your own child when it comes to their requirements. However, I also agree that some people may like taking care of one, but their circumstances wouldn't allow them to.
