I heard that it is traditional for women to change their last name to husband's name as they get married. When I first heard about this, I felt awkward because there's no similar culture in Korea. But as I watched dramas or movies of other countries, I got used to the tradition and I'm now just respecting it.
I sometimes think that it has its own advantage. In my opinion changing names after marriage can give stronger feeling of being united. In dramas it seemed like they think very meaningful to have same last name as a family and changing last name after marriage seemed like one of the processes of accepting the person as a member of the family. They are also can be called by their last name using Mr. or Ms. so they can feel like they are more together.
Since there's less types of last names in Korea, I think it would be very meaningless to have the same tradition.
In this point I think having the tradition of changing name and being capable of having it is interesting and fun.

>>In my opinion, changing one's name after marriage can create a stronger sense of unity.
In dramas it seemed like they think very meaningful to have same last name as a family and changing last name after marriage seemed like one of the processes of accepting the person as a member of the family.
>>In dramas, it seems that having the same last name as a family is seen as very meaningful, and changing one's last name after marriage appears to be a part of accepting the person as a member of the family.
They are also can be called by their last name using Mr. or Ms. so they can feel like they are more together.
>>They can also be addressed by their last name, using Mr. or Ms., which can make them feel more united.
Since there's less types of last names in Korea, I think it would be very meaningless to have the same tradition.
>>Since there are fewer types of last names in Korea, I think the same tradition would be somewhat meaningless here.
In this point I think having the tradition of changing name and being capable of having it is interesting and fun.
>>In this sense, I find the tradition of changing names and the ability to do so interesting and fun.
