I am afraid that you are shocked to hear about my experience.
I am from countryside and I was born and raised there untill I was 19 after that I moved to Seoul to study college.
When I was in the countryside, I loved playing with my friends and was really naughty.
At that time, there were a lot of bugs and insects in my hometown, so I used to catch and play with them for fun.
Then, when I became a senior in elementary school, I started catching snakes and frogs with my friends. And we even used to roast them over a fire and ate them.
Now I'm so scared of snakes that I can't even touch them.
Even now, I can't believe how I caught snakes and even roasted and ate them.

Actually, catching snakes is not new to me. 
Although I didn't experience it myself, I grew seeing boys who also play with snakes. 
Eating snakes is common in my hometown too. ^^
