I think exam is essential in learning. Of course, even for me as a student, preparing for the exam is hard and annoying, and it is not easy to cover a lot of contents. So I don't like the exam. But without the exam, I know that I would study roughly. The purpose of the test is how much I know and understand what I learned.
However in fact, every student wants higher score than other's. Therefore we have to try to get good grades. I think that the completing process of these efforts is one of the most important elements in learning. It is because when we study and memorize the details, knowing the connection of small parts is a helpful factor to increase the completion of learning.
So teachers need to give their students an exam.
