Well, I think it will depend on the situation because the situation that people are in is different.
First of all, if I think about environmental pollution, people should use public transport more. This is because own cars intensify air pollution.
Also, if people use public transport, people can keep their appointment time well and they don't have to worry about parking spaces.
However most people have their own cars.
Maybe it's because of the convenience.
This is because using a own car may take shorter time than using public transport depending on the distance.
In addition, there are areas where public transport is not developed, and it may be inconvenient to use public trasport on a limited basis.
