In Korea,a worker protection law called the Labor Standards Act is applied to workplaces with five or more workers. So if a worker is injured or sick, he or she tries to apply for industrial accidents to get all support for treatment and rehabilitation. When the apply is accepted, most of companies have to provide all support until the sick worker is recovered. However, some companies reject to give financial and physical support.

Thank you for sharing with me about labor law in Korea. I also heard from a student of mine, who works as an HR manager, that in Korea, the law tends to favor employees or workers rather than companies and their owners. I don’t know if this is a good thing or not, but at least the government protects employees.
