My hometown is Gyeongju. It is one of the oldest cities in Korea and was the capital of Shilla for about a thousand years. The Gyeongju Historic Sites District is home to many outstanding Buddhist relics and lifestyle relics from the Shilla period, including sculptures, pagodas, temples, palace sites, royal tombs, and fortresses. In particular, there are many relics from the 7th to 10th centuries, and through these relics, we can see the outstanding artistry unique to Shilla.
