Before today's class, I didn't know much about bread toppings or spreads, and I wasn't familiar with them.
I understand that a topping or spread is something that is put on or spread on bread.
When I travel abroad, I usually eat breakfast at the hotel restaurant.
The hotel restaurant had bread, butter, cheese, and various jams.
I usually ate bread spread with butter and jam and topped with cheese.
When I eat bread at home, I usually top it with a fried egg and ham, spread ketchup on it, and drink milk.
I now know that fried eggs, ham and cheese are toppings and jam and ketchup are spreads.

In my case, any piece of bread can be passed off as pizza when you toast it, spread it with tomato sauce, and melt some cheese on top. Throw some leftover chicken or meat on there for extra protein, or add leftover roasted vegetables and a few sliced olives.
