It means 'don't judge people by their appearance.' And I understood it as 'don't let someone's appearance overshadow his or her other features when you get to know the person.' Honestly I sometimes judge people by their appearance especially at first meet. For example, person with lots of piercings or street fashion seems to have strong personality and I don't go close to person with creepy face(it doesn't mean ugly face. It means feeling from their eyes, facial expressions and postures doesn't seem to be safe.) These kind of things hinders me to be close to some people. But after I meet people several times, the judgement about the people changes by their other features. So the conclusion is I feel guilty of judging people by their appearance but I don't want to change. Because the judgements change after first meet so it doesn't play a big role when I make friends and also it's impossible to get rid of it perfectly.
