First, we need to expect which disaster is likely to happen. We can learn from past experiences(earthquake, wars, etc). And then we need to think about how to prevent them and what effects would be if they happen. It's the best choice to prevent them not to occur. But if we can't, we should minimize the effect of disaster. For example, we can build structures that can minimize the impact of earthquake. Or putting many fire extinguishers can reduce damage.
