I think recepting other people's opinions can prevent arbitrary and wrong decisions.
If you listen to multiple opinions rather than sticking to just one idea, you will also find mistakes, and fewer wrong results will be produced.
Also, recepting other people's opinions may lead to new ideas.
It's my experience, once I discussed a topic together and came up with a new and creative idea from a friend's opinion, resulting in a decent result.
Wouldn't companies and society think that flexible and thoughtful listeners are better than arbitrary and obedient people?
I think that's why there should be more people like this.
