It's a bit commercialized but I think it's playing significant part in making the holiday atmosphere. Without the banner, commercials and special editions for holidays, it would not feel like holidays. Also, I think it's one of good ways to celebrate holidays. But it is also true that we should be careful not to forget the meaning of holidays and commercializing holidays can distract it. Commercializing holidays itself is fine(they just help us enjoy holidays) and the problem is us who don't remember its meaning.

That is so true! Being commercialized means that we tend to enjoy the holiday/s more. Can you imagine Christmas day without decorations and presents? wow, that made me realize when did Christmas decorations start. Let's have additional reading with that.
