Is tipping should be compulsory?
I don't think tipping should be compulsory.
There's no any rules that customers should pay tips for their services.
Tips can be paid only based on the customer satisfaction.
In my experience in the hotel, hotel employees can not force the customers to pay for it.
Some hotel don't allow the employees to get tip because the tip is already included in the service.

I wonder if what you have written below is an honest answer or just for the interview haha, just kidding~ In other countries, tipping is compulsory and I disagree about it. Because, honestly speaking not everyone can give satisfactory services. So you were right when you mentioned that it should be based on customer satisfaction and willingness to give.
