hi Beth, I have a question.

- During my work, I usually use 'you guys' wording, when I need to call some multiple people in one word. (either in e-mail and verbal communication)

Q1) Is this polite-enough wording for senior managers as well? For example, if I have a meeting with higher-ups, can I call them 'you guys'? If not, what will be more polite/right wording?

Q2) What about for female colleagues? is it OK enough with 'you guys', or is there any better wording? I once heard that some person prefers to use 'you all' instead of 'you guys', but I couldn't hear this so far in my English communications in my carrer.

Q3) In case of mine, my direct supervisor is lady, and her supervisor is also lady. So, sometimes I call them 'you ladies' instead of 'you guys'. How do you feel about this 'you ladies' wording? (not natural or OK to hear?)

First of all, "you guys" is an informal term that can be used in  causal conversations. In formal writing, it is best to avoid using "you guys" as it can be considered informal or gender-specific. Instead, you can use more inclusive terms such as "you all," "everyone," or "readers." These are not gender specific so they can be used for men and women. Example "I would like to inform you all about...", "I would like to inform everyone about...", "I would like to inform readers about...". I hope this helps. - T. Beth
