Why do you think so many countries are eager to learn English?
Modern society is competitional. Many people must learn about competition from young.
Maybe, in school students are compete with their friends at so many tests or athletic competition.
After, go into the world, have to compete with appliance for get a job. So, many people should shows their ability of foreign languages. Many of languages, English is very important and default in society. So many counties demand to understand English. Thus, many people can’t help learning English.
