There is a saying "To have a good friend, you need to be a good friend." How can you be a good friend?

I think that to be a good friend is more diffcult than to have a good friend.
In my case,
To be a god friend,
I try to listen to them rather than I talk.
I need a patient sometimes because some of my friend repeat same stories again and again.
And I also try to remember and celebrate freind's special days such like birthday, X-mas and big holidays.
I like share any things with my friends like food, cosmetics and useful information although it is trivial.
Whenever I meet my friends I don't hesitate to compliment.
( I always say, 'You look good today' and ' I really like you' )
From time to time, I wish I have a frined like me. hahahaha

I appreciate you expressing your thoughts. I agree that being a good friend can sometimes be challenging.
Have you ever heard of the Golden Rule? It states, "Treat people as you would want them to treat you."
It is true that if we show kindness to others without expecting anything in return, we will be content and able to regard ourselves as good friends. ^^
