My best author are Park Gyeong-ri and Herman Melville. Park Gyeong-ri is the famous Korean author. I read her epic novel, 'The land' when I was 17 years old. It was made up 16 books in that time and these days it is published with 21 books. It is about national history and family history from the Late Period of Joseon to Japanese colonial period. Especially I love the independent women in that novel. They don't rely on her husband or the political system. Herman Melville is the famous American author. I read his classical novel, 'Moby Dick' last year. It is almost 700pages and I read it with my co-workers. We usually call that thick book as 'Brick Book', because it is heavy and strong like brick. I love his expration ways. I can feel humor, technical writing skill and creativity through his work. So I really recommend these two authors for reading but it is very sorry I cannot find Park Gyeong-ri's works in English.
