What impact, if any, do you think subtitling films have on language learning?

I think that subtitling films have an impact on learning English a lot.
First, we can imitate their expressions.
For example, when native speakers of English say about science fiction or romantic comedy movies, they don't call it literally.
They use abbreviations such as sci-fi, and rom-com.
Also, we can learn natural pronunciations and intonations of English words from them.
Some people who got used to watching subtitling movies can speak naturally.
One of them is a member of BTS, whose name is RM.
Even though he hasn't gone abroad, he can give a presentation at UN Conference, thanks to a variety show, 'Friends'.
His mother was a big fan of that show, so he could be exposed to that when he was in childhood.
Finally, we can learn idioms from them.
'Kick off something' means 'start to something'.
Even though it wasn't an easy expression for a child, I could learn it from Disney movies.
For these reasons, watching subtitling films are good for our studying.

Great job, Ji Won. I appreciate the time and effort you put into the homework. I only found minor mistakes. Keep it up! :) Have a wonderful weekend. ~Teacher Jane c",
