In my father and grand father's generation, family gatherings are very important. I think it is because of the Korean war and Confucianism. After the Korean war, many Koreans were hurt about family and many people lost their family. And confucianism gave various manners toward adults like table manners and honorific. So we had to go to meet distant relatives regularly according to our confucianism manners. But after Covid 19 appeared, we can't visit relative's house, and my generation don't think family gtherings impertant.

Koreans are very family-orientated people. The family decided they were going to have an agreed annual family gathering one mutually agreed holiday period a year to ensure all members of the family had a close bond. Family gatherings strengthen family, and individual identity, and create stability and healthy relationships. Thanksgiving "Chuseok'  is celebrated with good food, wine, and family gatherings and it's a time when families gather together. Enjoy your Holiday.:) ~ Teacher QUENNY..
