I think human is finally alone. It is important to stay with others, but time goes by it can be tired. We have to refresh and meditate sometimes. Having personal space and time will help it. In my case, I feel free when I take a rest one in my own place. If someone is together with me, I tend to pay attention to her/him. It's okay usually, but I feel my energy gets rid of all after the critical point. In this case, the critical point means after leaving work. During the private time, I can take a rest fully. So having personal space and time is very important even if it is tiny and short.

I totally agree with you that having personal space and time is really important in our lives.
As for me, I really value it. I think being more of an introvert makes me this way but I really prefer having an alone time after meeting with friends or going to an occasion. Like you said, it also makes me feel well-rested and less stressed. It's just so nice. ^^
