I identified Bloomberg’s competitors include Refinitiv Eikon, S&P Global Capital IQ, Factset, and other financial software providers. Bloomberg has advantages over the competitors from the network and product coverage. The terminal connects market insight by forming a community. Instant message service allows users to communicate in the terminal and exchange ideas en masse, such as pricing quotes. Then there are product portfolios to benefit both financial and non-financial professionals. In the case of financial professionals, there are Bloomberg Indices which are multi-assets and customized risk management benchmarks. There is the Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index which materializes social factors on ESG. Then there are products for non-financial professionals. There is Bloomberg Law to incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning into the industry, requiring high-quality standards. For example, attorneys use a draft analyzer for merger and acquisition agreements.
