This proverb is true of Korea, which has valued the education of its people that Korea has had one of the world's highest-educated labor forces. Korea is well known for its obsession with education, which has come to be called "education fever". Without passion for education, this resource-poor country couldn't have been ranked among the top 10 countries in 2021. If we had resorted to financial support from advanced countries just after the Korean civil war without educating the next generation, we might have continued to live poor. However, Koreans in the 1900s started from scratch. They diligently learned and worked. They tried to make the impossible possible. Finally, they achieved the rapid economic growth called "Miracle on the Han River". This growth has been attributed to Koreans' hard work and the incessant education of their children. Koreans came to know how to survive in deep water, now they are designing the future with knowledge and wisdom to gain through education.
